Default Need help. 68 camaro sat for 20+ years

Hi, my father in law has a 68 camaro that has sat for 20+ years and I am trying to atleast get it going this summer. It still run, we recently got it to turn over. Never worked on anything this early. Not sure where to start? Any suggestions?

check, remove/replace: all fluids, points, rotor button, condenser, cap, plugs, wires. wiring may have been chewed by mice. brake lines, wheel cylinders for leaks
put a little gas in the carb and crank it over with a fully charged battery.
if no one has messed with anything the years it set it should start
PS setting the point dwell is (I think 28-32* or .019 with a feeler gage)
good luck

If I were you I would call a local dealership and see what they suggest. First they may offer a good price to work on it. Or at least they will give you some good ideas as they do these things daily. And that will be free.

I am curious to know what dealership works on a 50 year old car daily.
hell half the people that work there don't know what a set of points is

Agree with suggestions given, mine is remove spark plugs and squirt in oil into cylinders in lubing the rings.
This activity provides less friction while cranking.
Crank up idle screw so once it does start, the oil being splashed will lube camshaft and lifters.

I agree, get things lubed up first, starting an engine with dry or stuck rings or surface rust can ruin it. I'd get some WD 40 in there first for a good soaking to loosen things up (at least overnight) and then oil it up good. Expect to change the spark plugs after all that lube burns off. Probably a good idea to drain the fuel tank completely and blow out the lines with compressed air before adding fresh fuel and I'd replace any and all fuel filters and expect to replace them again soon after the first run.
