Thanks guys. Well I got the front seat backs recovered. It was pretty easy for this part. Now I just gotta put the hardware back on and make the front seats function. lol...its been so long since Ive taken them apart...this should be fun.

So my foam was in great condition. You have to attach the seat cover to the foam padding first, then wrap it around the frame.

ok so we studied the wiring harness some more and took the plunge tonight. Now that the fuse box is attached to the firewall and main harness is laying across where it should it was time to move on to the dash bezel. I learned how to take the unfinished wire ends and crimp on the connectors. Make the connections and add the lightbulbs.




Im also learning how to read and decifer the wiring diagrams. Fun stuff. So now my dash has gone from this

Wow, That does look like fun stuff. NOT!! lol
Do yourself a favor... get some new wire strippers and get rid of those dinosaurs that youre using! They make many that are way better than the old school ones these days. Cleaner cuts, less frayed wires and better crimps. I promise.

 

WOW! I am looking into re-doing the wiring on mine as well. Let us now what you think of that painless set up you have and what you think of it as you go along. I am thinking about getting the same for mine, so far I hear nothing but good things about'em.

I appreciate that but I am too far out to get into specifics. I know its gonna be spendy though. Right now its just in the dreaming phase. I really love this post regardless of how long it took to read. It really gives me a good indication of what I am in for.

This will be my first resto of any fashion and it was alot to take in. But really nice to see the results of Orockers hard work. I anticipate probably spending about 30+ grand by the time I am done but a 69 Camaro has been my dream since I got my first taste of a Camaro in 1990 (17 at the time) when I drove a 67 that had a 305 in it with no power assisted brakes... bugger to stop that beast.

It took 19 years to get one, but hey, dreams are worth waitin for right? lol

 

yeah it gonna be alot of work to get that back to a street car and not looking like a drag car hope you were gonna go custom on the dash and everything or it is going to be alot of work and money to get a regular dash in it
