Finished up the brakes so all the seals in the system are new. Got the new tires/rims on. I am going to syphon out the old car and put in some fresh. Then I can get out in the driveway and wash it.
I found some other issues, Its going to need a new drivers side mirror it will not hold adjustment something is going on with the shifter, it seems to have a lot of play in it. I also found several paint chips I would like to touchup. 5 year storage was hard on it with a now 9 year old boy in the house.

I replaced my drivers mirror in 1988 with a factory mirror. A couple years ago the mirror head got loose. I took it off and soaked the mirror head in lacquer thinner and that allowed me to pry the mirror glass off. The ball/socket is held taught with rivets or screws. Mine has rivets so I took a small peen hammer and peened the play out of it. Cleaned off the silicone residue and applied fresh black silicone, pushed the mirror glass back on. Still holding up!

I am not sure if the mirror is original or not but I think I am going to put it with all the other original parts and just buy a replacement from Ricks. Is like $37 and I am going to try to get an order of $250 so I can save 25%
I got to rinse it off today. It still needs a ton of cleaning. I like the 15s on there. I drove it. I believe the accelerator pump is not working. She idles nice but fall flat when I hit the petal.
Can you tell I am a Camaro fan boy

I like my 4th gens but I wish it was a 1974 350-4 speed sitting next to the 67. Although It would take a little work to get as fast, and a ton of work to get to go around a corner and stop like a 4th gen.

People are looking for 1st gens hard. I had the car in the drive way for about 5 hours on Sunday and I live on a very low volume traffic road. Today I had the garage door open and two people stopped to see if it might be going up for sale. Neither where my close neighbors. I guess word got out.
I removed all the hoses and the thermostat. Coolant and rad look good but there was a lot of buildup in the thermostat housing of a hard white/gray material. It must be coolant breaking down.
I have all new hoses and I plan on doing a water pump but I think I am going to flush it first.

Parts is parts. I did not buy the mirror from Rick's. I found the same part number on EBay. I also found the Hotchkis X brace on ebay and my wife had a 15% off ebay purchase coupon. I have never seen the X brace less then $177, I got it for $151 and the mirror was under $24.

I found the heater core will not hold pressure so that will need replaced. Add that to the list.

Ordered a new heater core from Rock Auto, not here yet, Flushed the coolant system, going to let the flush sit in there until the heater core gets here.
I tried to install the X brace and found 3 of the 6 internal frame nuts missing. I ordered some nutserts, I am not sure I can make them work but its worth a try before I get out the death wheel and welder.
I have moved over to the Carb, The accelerator pump is not working at all, I got it apart and I was expecting more varnish. It seem pretty clean. I am not sure what is going on. I do not see and holes in the pump diaphragm.
