New Member here, so hello to Everyone first off. So I started working on this car for the guy (and friend) I work for. He bought the car roughly a year ago. The car shifted horribly, like really bad and he asked if I knew anything about them. I got to see the car for the first time that weekend. The linkage was beyond out of adjustment, one of the levers was on backwards, and the car had a truck bellhousing on it. There were some issues to say the least. The trans was also leaking out of the countershaft. we decided to install a Tremec TKX, new clutch and bellhousing. I took the car back to my shop and got started. While I was doing the swap, we decided might as well go over all of the suspension too. The 12 bolt rear had it's own issues as well so a new 12 bolt rear and 4 link found a new home in the car. I'll post some pics here as the project progressed last year and also how it's going now. I've wanted a first gen Camaro since I was around 10 years old. I also tried buying this car from my boss pretty much as soon as I saw it (and ever since then).
Sorry for the long intro post, just giving some how we got here info lol.
The car is finally mine as well, just got the title transferred over to me a few weeks ago
Did a rear disc conversion, new master cylinder with proportioning valve and 6 piston calipers up front. Tubular control arms, springs, ball joints, tie rod ends, sway bar, close ratio steering box and a tilt steering column.
Thank you sir
Definitely still a work in progress. Im currently mini tubbing the rear, and also found a rust issue on the outer wheelhouses. Replacing both the inner and outer now. Finished up the drivers side yesterday and got the passenger side about 50% done as well. Measuring for new rims / tires as well, now that I'll have some room. I swapped out the steering wheel and gauges on the car as well. Just got a center console out of a 2015 too, seems to fit fairly well. Just a few tweaks and some mounts to make for it.
Biggest change should hopefully be here in 5-6 more weeks. The 396 in the car was getting pretty tired so putting a new 406 in, also going EFI while I'm at it. Got a new Aeromotive fuel tank, pump, filter and pressure regulator. New 6 AN feed and returns lines as well. Nothing crazy horsepower wise, should be 530 ish HP. Looking to make a nice driver out of the car.
sorry for the pic overload, just playing catch up with this build thread. Replacing the walnut with a black dash center panel and ashtray too.
Currently nothing unfortunately. I have a 406 small block (Dart Block) coming. Going EFI for easier cold and hot starts, drive ability etc. I'm not anti carb by any means though, just hoping the efi can make it just that little be nicer of a street car, and possibly can a few mpg not that I'm worried about either.

I love the EFI in my 2001,back in the day (way back) I had a '69 with a 425hp Vette 427 with a big Holley double pumper on an Edelbrock high rise intake and 4 speed.
The car was a blast to drive but even with premium 102 leaded gas at the pump for a buck a gallon it was a little expensive to drive getting about 8 mpg downhill with a good tailwind.
My '01 has a turned up LS1 making 400 hp at the wheels and a 6 speed stick,I can get 27-28 mpg on the highway at 65 mph and it has all the Caddy stuff, electric windows AC leather seats etc. that the old '69 didn't have and it brakes well and corners great (all aftermarket suspension).
The old '69 was about the same in a straight line but heaven help you if you had to stop or go around corner.
