Thanks SMEE78, he is a good man, currently waiting to start his 2nd phase of pilot training at Vance AFB, OK. I'm hoping to have the project done for his Pilot Training graduation.

Next up - Finish the wiring and then tackle the Convertible top. It's amazing how little information there is out there on refurbishing the convertible tops. Most of the tack strips were gone or rotted, none of the vynil was left for me to use as a template. It took me forever to figure out that the fingers on the header bow were meant to be bent down and hold down the forward tack strip.

It's been a while since I had any time to spend on the car. Last 2 weekends I managed to bang out some big items.
New Magnaflow Cross Flow Muffler - Done
New Eaton Posi Carrier with 3.36:1 Gears - Done
Rear Shocks, Calipers, Shields, stainless brake lines - Done
Stainless fuel line in but I need to make an adjustment, touches the muffler pipe on the passenger side of the fuel tank.
Headlight Wiring -

Convertible top is started, going slow as molasses so I don't screw it up but probably will anyway.

Looks great! Aim high, go Air Force! Love being an AF vet! I got my Camaro right before I went to my permanent station in 1975 and still have it. Your car looks great in hugger orange. Reminds me of the '69 SS 396 I sold a few years back. Still miss it

Thats great and thank you ror your service to this country.

I am hoping to do the same for my son. He "Track selects" on 12/11. We want to be there so we're packing up the camaro, on a trailer, and driving to Enid, OK for the event.

Awesome Camaro. Great Job so far. and as for being "too nervous to remember pictures", I can appreciate that. I was the same way. The big days with big jobs are always like that. Keep up the good work.

...and that Orange and Black Bumble Bee looks great btw.

Great looking 'vert! What a great UPT grad present! I too am in the USAF! I wish my Dad had helped me build a cool car for pilot graduation... As a 28-yr veteran that's flown 7 different USAF aircraft, from jets-to-props-to-helicopters, it is the BEST way of life!!

I got my '68 'vert 20 yrs ago in South Florida when stationed down there... It's been part of the family ever since! As I get closer to retirement, it is being driven more and more!

Tell your son good luck on his career!... and to remember, there is NEVER a bad assignment!

Thank You guys, it has been a blast working on this car. I really wish my son were here to help. Even his sister helps out, another AF kid studying nursing and pretending to be a bad A$$ running tough mudders.

Hope all the photos are not too much. The top is almost done, few wrinkles that I have been told will come out when the car hits the sunlight. All in all I'm happy I did the top myself.

Jeff,

Any updates on the Camaro? Also, how's Dan doing? I haven't heard from him in a while...

Default '67 vert

Jeff,

I understand Dan is at Ft RUcker now! That's great news! I will have some of the bubbas keep an eye on him! Let's keep that 'vert going and get it down to him so he can cruise "LA" in style!
