New member, switching sides from the mustang world. Found a 1968 camaro that Im interested in. It a 1968, SS, originally a 396 4 speed, now a 454 4 speed. So not numbers matching. Runs great. Interior is all there and pretty clean. Body is very straight but has a few blemishes up close. Id call it a 10ft car. Rear is seeping oil from somewhere and underside of engine was also wet. He said he was firm on 17K for the car. I thought that was a little high. What do you guys think a fair price is? Here is the Craigslist link.

That's serious money so I personally would want to see paper trail on the 454 build. Who did it? How long ago. I notice there was no pictures of the interior? They are never firm on the price its just to keep low ballers away. Esp with a oil leak that's not confirmed.

 

There are a few first gens in my area going for around that or higher and they are roughly in the same shape.

seem a little high to me as well. is the motor leaking oil or some other fluid? if it is oil it could be a valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket or the rear main seal. the rear is is probably leaking around where the pumpkin bolts into the housing since the cars has had a 9 inch installed sometime in its life losing the factory 12 bolt.
