Whats required to convert V6 to V8? Help
Checking the VIN on the car im looking at Im afraid it might have been born a V6. According to the seller there is a 400 that has been in the car for years. That said, lets assume it was born a V6. In these 1st gens is it as simple as throwing a 400 under the hood or does lots of stuff need upgraded (suspension, driveshaft, motor mounts, etc)?
I dont want to get effed on this deal. Please help.

First Gen Camaro's don't come through the factory with a V-6 engine, they have a straight 6 engine, 230 or 250.
What are you seeking help for? If the car already has a 400 in it, then what do you need to know or do?
Yes this swap is a very common swap and pretty easy, because basically everything is a bolt in. New frame mounts are needed to go from 6 to V-8, new radiator, pulleys, depending on what tranny goes in you might need a new crossmember, driveshaft and possibly a shifter, the wiring is different between a 6 and 8, but can be adapted or a new harness bought, front coil springs may need replaced, 6 cyl throttle linkage is different then the V8, exhaust.....but it's not a hard swap.
