What would you upgrade while the motor is out?
Hi, I have a CA survivor 67 RS/SS that I am in process of restoring. I have the drivetrain (fully dressed 383 w/ ceramic headers {425HP} matched to M21 4 speed w/ macloud racing clutch) ready to drop in. I am curious, though: While I have the motor pulled, what are some things you guys have done?
I already plan to:
Go through all the bushings on the suspension and replace.
new shocks
Replace all body mounts
powder coat engine bay
replace all hardware
new radiator (suggestions please)
new wiring (entire car)
restore RS headlights function (rebuild kit + motor suggestions please)
replace cracked rs grill (replacement suggestions please)
+lots of body work and then putting original butternut yellow back on the car
Not sure if I should consider:
New brakes and master cylinder
upgraded front suspension
Thanks!

I'd also update the steering box/hoses (if PS), while the engine and headers aren't there to be in the way.
You got ac/heat? Might want to hit those as well if you do.
Keep in mind that front suspension work can be tricky without the full weight to help compress the springs. You usually have to get creative or have a set of spring compressors that fit well. I tore mine down with the motor in, and it was a piece of cake.
