I assume you tried E Bay/Craigslist. You can allso try:

allofcraigs.com (searches all states craigslists)
Racingjunk.com
Autrader.com

Keep in mind that if an ad seems too good to be true it usually is. Happy Hunting!

I have had the pleasure of owning both. My 69 was a beautiful ss that I enjoyed very much. I go to a lot of car shows and noticed that the 67 and 68 RS/SS cars would always catch my attention. So I sold the 69 and bought a 67 RS/SS. I would have to say that I love them both. I like the nose of the 67 RS/SS a little better, but I like the rear quarters and interior of the 69 a little more. Bottom line, you really can't lose, any 1st Gen camaro is a solid investment if you buy the right one. Hope this helps.

The reason the 1969 is more valuable than any other Camaro is because they are the only style of Camaro that is designed in a class all by itself. If you'll not the body parts for the 1967 and 1968 are interchangeable. A 1968 or 1970 body parts will not fit the 1969 Camaro. The body design was sleek and full muscle. The auto designers were not sure who the public would respond to this new design so therefore it was the only one ever designed with this clean style. If you are fortunate to find one, jump on it. It's destine to only increase in value as you will note from it's history.

That D?R should be TR, for "Trim". 713 is black houndstooth.
02 is February, D is 4th week of the month.
X11 is style trim group. It doesn't mean much beyond that, as anything from a 6 cylinder car to an SS350 can have that code.
There are no codes for the RS package, so that option is an easy one to fake.

thanks Camaro 69

so how does one tell if its is the real deal, the seller has paper work from the dealer ship and delivery documents from factory to dealer and he also has other paper work... one of the documents has 2 dr. Sp.Cp

so from what you tell me the only way to check is to get a build sheet from Chev...

and further more all SS or RS even with a X11 code doesnt mean they are the real deal?

can you advise how we can get a build sheet from chev or who would be able to get this.

If that paperwork the guy has states the options, and is the real deal, then you have some good documentation. How to acquire a duplicate copy of the build sheet is a question that many collectors have asked over the years, and there doesn't appear to be any copies that GM kept to get a duplicate from. When trying to document an undocumented car, you want to find as many traces of proof to show the car is what it appears to be.
