voltage drop 1967 rs camaro
Im new to this posting stuff. I have a 1967 rs camaro with a small block.
ive installed a new wiper motor, new heater blower motor, new headlight switch and ignition switch. when the engine is idling the volt gauge reads about 14 volts. then it slowly goes down as i turn on headlights, then even further as i turn heater blower motor on high, then to about 12 volts when i turn wipers on and brake lights on. the headlights get real dim, but when i speed rpm s up the volts jump right up to 14. does this mean i need a higher amp altenator. it has been changed over to internal regulator set up.
everything else on the car works.

I'm not familiar with these systems in particular, but it's common to see an electrical system of this vintage that can't keep up while the car is idling. If your lights are bright and your battery stays charged when you're driving around town at night, it may never become an issue for you.
