11's would be sweet, i know 11:1 wont be to street friendly but ima only drive it on weekends and such. the suspension thats on it is just leafs in the rear with traction bars. still trying to figure a good tire size for it. any suggestions?

Like Burnt68 said, "Suspension". Sounds like you have enough grunt under the hood but without the proper weight transfer at launch you might not be able to hook-up. Might want to think about some variable shocks up front and some sub-frame connectors to avoid "The Twist".

1 3/4 will be plenty for this engine. Get a MT/ DRAG RADIAL tire and some type of traction aid. Preferrably Cal Trac bars and 11s should not be a problem. The long stroke of the 400 should like the 3:73 gears. Long stroke torque engines like less gear and the smaller header size will also add torque........Toni www.hrracecar.com

Are the heads alum? I ran pump gas in a 11.3 355 alum headed and mixed at the track. Also a thing to try perhaps is a duel plane intake, that strip domin intake is like a 4-8k range. Try taming it down to a rpm air gap (inwhich will move that car off the line alot better) or maybe a victor JR. the torque should be great!! Adjustable shocks all way round, 90/10 up front 50/50 or 60/40 in back and try some of the JEGSTER lift bars. They lift the whole car while tryin to slam the rear tires to the track. Good luck
