Default Transmission Line Flare Nut Fix

Replaced the radiator on my 68 Camaro this weekend and I rounded off the flare nut on the transmission line. Looking at replacing it, can the nut be replaced? I haven't worked much with these types of lines. (yes, I was using a flare nut wrench, but the guy who worked on it last had beat the heck out of the nut and it wasn't savable). If I replace the line itself, it looks like the passenger side header has to come off for sure, maybe lower the transmission as well. That seems like too much work for a simple problem. Any suggestions? Is there any alternative to replacing the line? Can I splice in a new end and nut?

Thanks

I spliced one before with a rubber hose, just make sure it's trans fluid safe....and I wouldn't keep it like that long.
