A quick tip for shooting this kind of primer.
The first coat should be fast and misted on just o get the surface "sticky". Then come back with 2 more "wet" coats to build up the surface. This primer dries fast so you can move real slow and pour it on. I didn't have any drip or runs so you're pretty safe when comes to shooting this stuff on.
(That won't be the case with the color, though.)
Now that the rain's here, I'm going back to the motor and try to finish that up over the winter break. When the sun peaks out in March, I'll jump back on the body work. Hope this thread helped a few people.

CptlThomas.. any updates on your body work?
Blade.. what's next on your ride?

Blade = I can sympathize with you. My left over cash went to my kid's presents. But, hey... I love them more than my car so, I don't mind.

cplthomas = My budget?
Haven't you heard? I don't have a budget anymore.
That's why I'm tinkering around with all this body work.(Which I hate)
I missed-out on a job this Fall that would have given me my car budget. But, when the deal fell through, my budget was gone. Now I just scrape up enough cash to buy primer and sanding materials. After the holidays, it's back to saving money each paycheck to get the engine done. The big expense there is the wiring harness, new injectors and the headers. Everything else is either done or just needs some cleaning (polish that aluminum).

Which reminds me. Has anyone found a retailer for Rolite Professional Aluminum polish. This is the stuff aircraft restorations experts use to shine their aluminum airplane wings and such. Great stuff! I'm just running out and I can't find anymore.

What I meant to say was....

ORIGINAL: jonnyNITRO

This is the spray gun I borrowed to shot the primer. I think he said it was $19 at Harbor Freight tools. I love the HVLP guns, they spray so much better than the old cup guns and I get ALL the paint on the car. (nothing left in the bottom of the cup)
