Suggestions for improving ride on 68.

Hi all, first post here. I have a 68 SS clone with healthy 350 and aftermarket front disks. Mono leafs in back, all stock suspension. The car feels very soft and wallowy and I would like to take some reasonable steps to keep from floating and then bottoming the suspension on dips and more lean control would be nice. I do not want to build a pro tourer, just want to tie down the float so to speak without changing ride height. All the suspension kits I see sound to radical for me. Any suggestions on a program or kit to attack this? Maybe new shocks (any specific suggestions?) and then a rear sway bar or thicker front bar? Just want little tighter ride on a budget while preserving stock height and my kidneys.
Thanks a bunch.

I have been looking at whole suspension kits at ricks for around $1400. But most say a drop of 1.5 to 2 inch.
I am in same boat as you and don't want a lower my car.
More discussion on first gens at Camaro.net I found on suspension ideas. But i keep hoping to find ideas like you

HD front and rear swaybars wont affect the ride, but will really stop the body roll. Then I'd go with a fully adjustable gas shock so you can adjust valving to keep from bottoming, and slightly firm the ride without changing height.
Should handle a huge amount better, and not ride like a buckboard.

On my 68, I added Hotchkis Subframe connectors plus front and rear Hotchkis antisway bars.. no more wallow or body roll... also added Competition Engineering drag links to stabilize the rear end under acceleration... The Subframe connectors really helped to stiffen the overall connection between the front and rear suspension. Rear springs are new multileaf at stock specs and the front suspension is also stock. The car remains at stock height... the package made a significant improvement in ride at cruising speed and in corners....

Thanks.. they were on the car when I purchased it, but the markings indicated new, Rick's Camaro has what appears to be stock mutlileafs (5) for circa $99.. no mention of lowering which is the case for many of the high performance manufacturers such as Hotchkis...
