Hey folks, I just found your forum while I was trying to find help for my odometer on my 69 rs/ss convert, the first 2 numbers are stuck, speedo works, miles just don't roll over. Not a major problem, can't document miles driven. Have had car 9 years, ground up restored prior to purchase, it's always something I think I need or want. Looking for how to remove speedo and odometer, or is the fix worse than the desease. Also what purpose do the 2 small screws on face of speedo serve?

Something may have jammed the first two numbers. But the mechanism that would have been trying to turn the second number over most likely would have gotten stripped out because of it. That or the gear got stripped out and won't advance the next number.
To remove the speedo, first remove the front bezel. Pop off the speedo cable. Remove the two screws on the back side of the cluster that holds the speedo in. Then you can pop the whole speedo out. The odometer is held in place with a flat spring clip. Remove the clip and slide the odometer assembly over to clear the one end of the shaft from the hole, rock it down and slide it out. Once it's in your hand, you can play with it turning the number wheels to see what's going on...or not. Now would also be a good time to set the odometer to the correct count!![Wink](https://camaroforums.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif)
The two screws on the speedo face holds the face to the body. You don't need to screw with those.
