Me offended? Takes a lot to offend me, so I hope I didn't indicate I was offended by your question. Not an expert either, just old enough to have been around when all this took place.
I'm not sure if it is online. I'm going from info that I read back in 1969-70 when the COPO Camaros came out. The run was scheduled for 100 cars, and hidden under the COPO order from GM management, as COPO orders didn't have to get management approval prior to build, like any regular high performance option did.
They only built 69 of the 100 because GM brass found out about this "COPO" order and put a halt to lower management's scheme to get around their approval by using the COPO process used for taxi cabs and police cars.
COPO cars are still being made today by Chevrolet, and they are still specific numbers of cars built to a customer's order or dealer's order, and still can not be special performance packages outside of the normal police package. Now COPO orders take a number of signatures at GM to sign off before production can begin, just to avoid the 1969 incident again.

Ok now you really are reading too much into this. The quote marks around "COPO" meant that Chevy used the Central Office Poduction Order system to actually sell a special run of factory race cars, which in reality were not really what GM brass had in mind when they started the COPO program.
Does this explain it, or are you now offended?

Oh I get it you just can't stand to see someone with a descent ride...why don't you just accept car's for what they are...I like all muscle car's...give it a try perhaps then you'll be a little easier to get along with. I'M REFERRING TO THE QUOTE YOU MADE AT 6:16...REMEMBER?

OK, I'm done with you and your post. For some reason you've come here spoiling for a fight or a flame war. You wont get it from me, nor will I respond to any post you make.
Enjoy your car, and grow up.

I am talking about the "Quote" he made at 6:16 claiming that I have something against SS396's. I made a comment to another guy about his rare high optioned big block and 3rd GM locked in the Quote on his response suggesting that I was knocking big blocks...that isn't the case at all.
I am canciling out of this forum, it's not for me...appologies to anyone I have offended, including you, 3rd GM...
