Shoulder strap seatbelts & side mirror on 67 Camaro SS
Hello wonderful community,
New to this place, first post, so please bare with me.
I have done the deed and acquired a 1967 Camaro SS 396 and I noticed no shoulder strap seatbelts (only lap) and no passenger side mirror. I realize they were not required (or offered (2nd side mirror) in 1967.
My question is will adding these to safety related elements reduce the value because they were not actually offered? Thanks!

The two items asked about were offered as options.
Shoulder belts can be found here: Camaro Factory Options (camaros.org)
Passenger mirror can be bought from most any aftermarket vendor, Camaro Central, National Parts Depot, etc.
Congrats on the buy - enjoy her.

IMO adding options to an all original car can hurt the value but I would guess since you do not know that you are not really into competitive car shows. As said above the value would be hurt the worse on a car that was a concour level car. The farther from perfect the car is the less it will effect the value.
After saying that its your car, if you plan on driving the car then your mods make sense. IMO safety is greater then value. Heck while you are at it put some disk brakes on it if you plan on driving in regular traffic. With the stock drum brakes you car will take twice as long to stop as just about anything on the road and keep way back from any type of sports car.

Safety mods on 67 SS
Thanks for all the replies! I have decided you all make perfect sense. It's not for showing, it's a driving. So now I have these "safety mods" ready to be installed:
- Right mirror (screw holes)
- Bottom spoiler (plastic)
- Rear spoiler (just arrived)
- Break booster (has front disc breaks, back drum)

I was reading the orig options, and it looks like both A/C and a tachometer were available but not included on mine (not sure why). I kind of like to have a gauge showing where my RPM's are at, especially in a performance sports couple. Even more than cool A/C air.
