Default richmond 5 speed in a 67 camaro

I am a newby on this board and have a question/problem that hopefully someone can help me with. I am a gm tech at a dealership and am currently working on a customers 67 rs/ss camaro. I am currently in the process of installing a richmond 5 speed in the vehicle, my problem is the location of the long shifter in relation to the stock location. The shifter is now located rearward and to the left approx 5 inches. Normally this would not be a problem but the customer insists on retaining his stock center console. Has anyone every installed a richmond 5 speed and retained their stock console? how did you do it and what mods did you have to do? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I believe that Richmond sells a kit that will allow the "stock" location of the shifter.

Thanks....but they were actuallly my first call. they informed me that all installs require custom modifications. They told me to contact "long shifters" for installation help. They were no help. I have moved the shifter to the most forward position on the mounting plate, but that still does'nt get me remotely close to where I need to be.
