Default Restore 69 camaro help

Hello everyone I hope someone can give me some advice about restore.

I have searched the web for books and cd about restoring my camaro, I was thinking of getting the volume 3 cd that they sell online and was woundering if it worth it. I noticed quite a few issues with the car and want to make sure i get it as close as possible, not looking for a trailer queen, just something to drive and have fun with the family.
Thanks,

plumberman

Volume 3 cd? What is that? Your post is very vague. We have a few technical people here if you have a specific question I suggest pictures and very direct questions. A picture with arrows pointing to one part and asking "is this correct for a 1969 SS 396" will yield you quick answers.

There is a ton of stuff out there, to recommend something we would need to know more about your skill level and maybe a link to the restoration CD you are looking at.

So are you a skilled mechanic and body man that just needs to know what is correct for a 69 Camaro? Are you a beginner just wanting to know what to look for? (AKA spotters guide) There is just as much information on the web then there is in any book. I am sure if you dig far enough 99% information you will need on a 1st gen can be found free on the web.

You should start a thread in the project section describe your car and your goal, then post progress updates. If you need help wit posting pictures just ask. Once people subscribe to your thread they will be a more helpful because they get to see. If there is a member near by you, you may end up with a hand when needed.

Once you get into doing stuff you can almost always find a video on youtube of someone else doing the same repair.

I will start with this, "Camaro69" is member that has a bunch of links for reference.

Camaro Research Group

Welcome To The NEW Camarosource.ca - Internet's Largest Most Complete Camaro Resource Site

One of the oldest parts suppliers for 1st gens, you may even have a local dealer around you
Chevy Camaro Parts For Sale - Classic Camaro Parts And Accessories - Ricks Camaro Parts

Restoration Supplies & tools, they have been around forever and I have used them and returned items
Eastwood - Auto Body Repair Tools | MIG Welder | TIG Welder | Plasma Cutter | Auto Body Supplies & Accessories

Reading other peoples build thread can help. When you are talking 1st gen Camaro I serious doubt you will be doing anything that has not been done 20,000+ times before.

Good luck

Can you give a link to the DVD set you were looking at. I haven't seen it, but haven't had the need either.
The "How to Restore Your Camaro 1967-1969" book would be a good one to pick up.
As well as a factory assembly manual. This gives components & option specs, locations, measurements, etc., what they followed at the factory. It's not a tutorial on how to rebuild your car.
Download here, click on the first sticky: Camaro Reference, Repair and Owners Manuals - Camaro Forums - Chevy Camaro Enthusiast Forum
And don't be afraid to ask questions here. Some of us have had their cars apart and back together to one degree or another.
