I was thinking of converting my steering over to rack and pinion however after all the info that I found I have decided against it. There doesn't appear to be a kit out there that mates the rack up wiht the steering shaft without binding.

Now looking for a quick ration manual gear box. I know that not only 1st gen boxes will fit. Does anyone know of a fairly quick, 14 or 16 to 1 ratio box available.

You might want to check with Camaro Central, they have a manual quick ratio (16:1) steering boxs in their catalog. Call them about applications before you order.

 

this box is only 12 to 1 but it would still give you a great road feel and a quick response

you could also check with CCP or Flaming River for their options. they are all very good companies to work with
