Quality front end parts
Hey all, new to the forum. I've got a 69 Camaro convertible that my dad has owned for several years and has been sitting around ever since he bought it. About 4 years ago I had more ambition than knowledge and tore the front end, engine, and transmission out of it and it has sit ever since. I've finally gotten some motivation to do some real work to it now and plan to at least clean up the underside, fix up the suspension, and get it driveable before any major body work is done. The car really is rust free besides the trunk floor, so we are lucky in that aspect.
I've been sandblasting and powdercoating the front control arms and hardware, and have been researching different brands of parts. I know Moog used to be all American made and high quality, but I know they aren't making everything in the states these days. I've heard of PST, Spicer, Rayspestos (Same as Spicer now?), and it looks like you can still get some AC Delco stuff. There are tons of brands out there, but I would just like to see if anyone knows what products are still made in the USA. Moog seems to have a lifetime warranty on all their parts, which gives me some comfort in buying their products. I emailed PST and it sounds like some of their parts are American made and some offshore, but they didn't specify which.
I did search the forums some, but the results were a few years old and it seems like everyone is outsourcing to China nowadays, so I'm hoping for some fresh opinions!

Are you looking for Made in USA parts because of quality or because of pride? If it because of pride then my hats off to you for being patiotic but do not delay your project strictly trying to find Made in USA parts. I wish it were easy to find more USA made stuff. Find a company who is going to stand by their product and charge on. Anything can fail, even 100% USA made stuff and it is aggravating when it does.
Being an American car it would be nice to have USA made parts, but I think you are right. It's going to be hard to find all American made parts, especially shopping online. I think I may just stick with Moog since they have their lifetime warranty on their parts. I did hear of someone else with a 69 Camaro who has had the balljoint boots rot on them already though, but I couldn't tell you how old they are. I doubt anything will be as good as factory. Aftermarket parts usually aren't, especially when it comes to rubber materials.

All I can say is good luck in your search
Sence the big corps have taking everything over and all they care about is making junk over seas so they can make tons of money on a monthy base, We have turned into a throw away society, and there aint no turning back unless we make and buy local.
Well after working with my body guy for over a year he swore by NPD parts for quality and consistancy. I am sorry to say that I do not know where the parts are made and never did any kind of research on it. I went merely on the advice of an old school restoration guy who had been doing quality work all of his life.
