Default proud new owner of a 68 all original Camaro

I just bought a 68 all original Butternut Yellow Camaro. It came with the original paper work from the dealer. I purchased it from the grandaughter of the original owner. Theo only thing missing is the roiginal sales reciept which was there when I looked at it, but gone when I picked it up. It is the base model coupe, (granny model) with a six in it, but straight as new. I have been enjoying it. My husband wants to repaint it for me and wants me to change the color, but I think it should stay the stalk Butternut yellow) even though it is NOT my favorite color. I kind of thought it would be nice to keep it original. What do you all think? Is it better to keep it stock or does changing the color not mess up the cars value?

Welcome to the forums. A frsh coat of pain, even a different color wont effect the value, unless its rolled on in the garage with plain latex paint. Besides, when you take it in to get it painted maybe they will find some defects or hidden rust and be able to repair it then.

Welcome to the forum Emma! Hope to see some pics soon. Make your car the way that pleases you most and then just enjoy it. cplthomas is right though, a freshening can't be bad for it...

sounds nice, cant wait to see it. The color thing will only be a factor depending on what shape the car is in and what your plans are for it based on the value of the car. other than that, Ultimately if you are planning on it being a driver, you will be the one driving it so its all about what you like. Personally butternut is an ok color and a fresh coat would probably look great. Welcome to the Forum.]
