Default Proper Lifting instructions (4 wheel off ground)

Hey All,
looking for advice for for using a hydraulic floor jack and jack stands to lift a 67 camaro.

I have never lifted a sub frame car before and I am doing a disc brake conv. and some other things so i need to get all 4 wheels off the ground.
not sure of the proper way to do this on a 67 camaro and could use some advice.

I would put jackstands under the axle to support the rear and under the subframe behind the front wheels. If a garage where to use a lift they would put the rear legs under the front leaf spring mounting point.

Here's how I do it. I jack it up where the red arrows are, directy under the engine on the crossmember and under the diff. I jack the front first because lifting the rear end first will cause the nose to drop and I can't get a jack under the valance. The bassethound isn't required.

Note: make sure the jack can roll while jacking so the car doesn't slide off the contact plate.

most rears should be sturdy enough to use as a lift point. just make sure you are on the rear housing and not trying to jack it up by pushing on the diff cover. I could see that ending badly

Yes it is. Lifting the car like that is gentle compared to what the rearend is subjected to when driving the car.
I always jack my cars up the same way juggernaut showed.

what about the jack locations for the front? Should they be positioned on the frame right behind front wheels?

That'll work fine. You could also put the stands under the lower control arm instead. It depends on what part of the car you need access to. Having the stands under the front subframe could be in your way if you need to slide under to work in that area. And set the jack stands on a piece of plywood if you're working on an asphalt drive, otherwise they'll sink right in and ruin the drive.....don't ask!

Thanks everybody
I am doing a 4-wheel disc converstion, Header install, U-Joint replacement and a exhaust system so seems like anywhere I install the stands they eventually will be in the way but I will deal with that
so

lift front first via crossmember.
lift rear via rear end
place stands under rear axel and frame behind wheels

and GO!
