Power steering delete

Default Power steering delete

I want to take the power steering off my 68. do I just loop the lines??

Try it but I think it will be difficult to stear. A manual gear box is probably the way to go. I've done the loop trick when I couldn't afford a new pump and it was no fun to drive but got me by.

Car will be set up fro drag, no reason for power steering, manual gearbox is the way to go then??

Yep, the steering boxes have different valving. A power steering box without power to it will be a real drag to steer.

I think the nova's where the same you may be able to find a manual box out of any older 4 door. I have known a couple people that just removed the pumps on their cars. The power steering boxs do not seem to last long when they are used as a manual box.

might want to check but i think the pitman arm on power and no power boxes are different

I've also heard of guys using manual boxes out of the chevy vega as they are lighter than other gm manual boxes.
