Newbie questions
My son and I have just purchased a 69 RS/SS project. It's an X11 car so it's one of those is it really cars. We have verified 99% of it so it's a do er. My question is the speedometer hole location. This is a 4 speed car if that helps. I read in a blog that the hole for the speedometer cable is between the steering column and the passenger side so left of the column looking at it from the front end, does anyone know if this is correct. It looks like it's on the right side of the column. There is no engine or transmission in the car so that doesn't help but it would have been a 350/300 hp engine. I've read that if it was a Muncie, right of the column would be incorrect. I'm not sure which transmission would have been in it so another question I guess. This is a project / total restoration but definitely not going all the way to numbers matching. Adding this bit, looking for a replacement firewall, none of them mentioned SS applications. Any help would be appreciated, thanks. Paul

We haven't made up our minds yet. I have a few 396 HP blocks sitting or we might try to find a 350 block. We are just starting to get our stuff together on it. The body is pretty rough so we need to go there first. Paul

That is me as well, old school and trying to get my 68 closer to what I want or what would be acceptable for stock
I have a 69 350 block in mine according to the numbers I believe
Not real sure of what crank I have as I am relying on witness marks on the old T350 flex plate that was on it before I put a M21 in it
I would like to get a big block for mine and a SS hood

I think they just look better old school. Every one wants to put an LS in their car. I get that it's cheap power and lower maintenance but personally I want to tweak the carb and adjust the timing, and I'm sure people will think I'm nuts but really....I am 😂
