Hi Guys, My Father has had a 69 RS Z28 for about 20 years. It has seen little drive time in those years. He has decided to part with it and put me on the task of selling it. I have done a few hours of research on this site trying to figure out what he has. I'm hoping I can get some help in that area. The VIN is 124379N602308 which I learned is an 8 cycl coupe, 69 Norwood. It came with 2 motors, one in it and one on a motor stand. I found the engine stamps on them but no serial numbers like one site said they would have. I found V0213DZ on one and V0421DZ on the other. (V=Flint, 0213=Feb13th, DZ=Z28??) Again no serial numbers next to these to compare against the VIN. I was also unsure of where to look on the transmission for a serial number. Any input would be great so we can figure out what we have to properly describe what we have for sale in the near future. Thanks Ryan

DZ is the Z28 code used for late production 68's and 69's. You can check the casting date on the bellhousing (center or passenger side) to verify the year. The last number will be an 8 or a 9.
Also, some blocks had the partial VIN stamped on a vertical pad near the oil filter boss and bellhousing flange. Check there just for fun.

Thanks for your help! I could not find anything on the bellhousing or near the oil filter. I did find 392566 on the passenger side of the trans near the bellhousing and C3 and below that 36399. I also found 3857584 on the passenger side of the trans near the drive line. From the pictures on your link I'm assuming its the Muncie. Anymore thoughts? Thanks again!
