New Project
I have been reading a lot of good info on here the past couple weeks so thank you for that.
Here are a couple pictures of the 68 I just picked up last week. I have been wanting one for a long time and this one happened to come around for the right price so I jumped on it. Let me know what you think. I will post more pictures as things get done to the car. Overall the car is really solid, the only big problem area is the quarters. Also if anyone can identify those wheels let me know. I originally thought they were from a 80's trans am but am not sure.

Good find. I first thought those looked like 80's GTA wheels but I don't think they came in different widths?
It is funny that the front end of that car has so much surface rust. It almost looks like they took it down to bare metal, then parked it outside.

check the floors and trunk and rear frame rails for rust!!! looks like it has been sitting a while?
my guess is the previous owner stripped the front end then started on the rear and found the rust/bondo issues and lost interest or lack of cash!!

I originally was thinking GTA wheels as well. One of the center caps says "western" on it. I don't know if that is aftermarket or not. I could not find too much info on them.
The front has all that surface rust because the guy I bought it from actually bought new sheet metal for up front. Put it on and then let it sit so that primer it comes in only lasts so long. I am getting the fenders blasted this week and picking up a different hood tonight.
I had the car up on a lift before I finalized the deal. All of that is solid. The Drivers side floor was patched at some point, but it was patched with sheet metal and not a stamped floor pan so I may switch that out purely for aesthetics. Luckily the whole interior and carpet have been out of the car and stored in a garage for the past 10 years so any moisture that got in there when it was sitting didn't get trapped by the carpet. I will post up some pictures once I get the hood and fenders back on and will take some interior ones as well.
