Default New member with throttle linkage question

Just discovered your site. I joined a few minutes ago. I'm Steve Meitner in sunny Fort Pierce, Florida. Been a chevy collector and restorer since 1984. Mostly camaros and I've lost count of how many I've owned.
I'm finishing up a 68 SS/RS 396 convertible. The original 396 is long gone so I installed a 69 corvette 427 with a 6 speed that I robbed from a wrecked 96 Z28. Easy installation but I have a question about throttle linkage.
Does anyone know of an aftermarket cable hookup that is compatible with the factory foot pedal? I would like to do away with the throttle rod that comes up along the firewall and possibly go cable all the way. I'm thinking someone out there has had the same desire and can give me some ideas so I don't have to try to reinvent the wheel. Maybe a throttle hookup from a newer camaro?
Thanks for allowing me to join.
God Bless. Steve

moved you to 1 gen section, you should get some responses here. welcome to the forum. post up some pictures when you can.
i think 96 has a throttle by wire aka electric so you will be taking that out and using a older thottle setup? have you looked at a 93 cable setup. maybe call around the wrecking yards to see if they have one you can look at,
