I am new member, son and I have a 69 Camaro coupe with x44 code. Anyway to tell which engine it came with? Other than vin number is there other tags to look for, any location? Thank you for any assistance or suggestions, and for originality and history, I would like to find out,

Mike

Good luck with the build.

Welcome Mike

All the info should be in the above link.

If I remember right X44 meant is was not a SS, Z28 or RS. I think only 1 of the 2 factories used the X numbers. The X11 is the confusing one cause it could have been a SS.

The X11 bodies where so popular because of the mystery around why the X11 existed GM built a X11 Citation in the 80s with a HO 2.8 with the X11 paint right on its side.
