Are you looking for an "original" (or un-molested) car?

Camaro Research Group(CRG) is a great site for any information about originality, factory options, trim codes, and VIN's for first generation 67-69 Camaro's...

They also have a forum to ask questions. They can help you to verify whether the car is a "real" Z28, SS model, or just a "clone"... CRG Discussion Forum - Index

You can even find the original assembly manuals used by the factory. Its a reproduction of course.

1969 Camaro Assembly Manual Aim SS Z28 396 L78 L89 COPO ZL1 427 Norwood GM | eBay

You also need to find one a test drive it. For anyone that enjoys the precision handling of a C6 an original first gen in restored original condition will handle like a 30 year old pickup truck. I can drive a C6 200 KPH with one hand on the wheel on just about any highway, 200 KHP is about as fast as you want to take a stock first gen on a straight, flat road and you want to have a lot of stopping room.

Of course upgrades for suspension an brakes are available.
