Need help identifying '69 Camaro
Hi there,
I have a '69 Camaro convertible (three on the tree trans). I came here because I am unsure of its exact model, I've been all over the net and can't find a similar car. And it doesn't help that my car doesn't have any specific badges. I understand how to decode the VIN, but something doesn't add up..the VIN says it's a V-8 although the engine is clearly a 6 cyl. (I find it very unlikely for someone to put in a 6 cyl.). I've included a few pictures as well as the VIN below.
Thank you for your time,
Ross
VIN:
ST69 12467 NOR349956BDY
TR 727 76 B PNT
06A

Sure the 5 numbers on the tag tell you it 6 or 8 cyl and a coupe or conv. also on vin but yeah check vin you might have a v8 cowl tag with a 6cly vin but I dought it. I would say they did put a 6 in it maybe the car had no engine before you bought it and they didnt have a v8 so the 6 was in the garage.
There are no 6 cyl or 8 cyl engine designations on a trim tag. The 12467 (convertible code) on the trim tag has no connection to the similar numbers on the VIN.
The two numbers aren't related, even though they look like they could be.
