Default Looking for my step-dads '68 Convertible

Hi all - I posted a few years ago. I am trying to find a 1968 Camaro convertible that belonged to my step father. The car was Matador Red with a white top. It was a base car, 327 3-speed on the floor. Hub cap car with a base interior and an AM radio. It may or may not have had rally wheels under the hub caps. He was in the middle of getting all the parts for converting it. I don't have a lot of pics, or much info to go on. He bought the car used in 1974 or 1975 from Gray Chevrolet in Stroudsburg PA. He sold the car while serving in the military at McGuire AFB in NJ around 1982 or 1983. I'm not trying to buy the car, or even see it or harass the current owner. I would really just like to know what happened to the car. When he sold it, he was upset about doing so. When I have asked him for a VIN or other details, he has been less than eager to provide. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, I'd appreciate it. Thanks - Dave

The chances the car has not gone through several restoration is pretty low. With the vin it can be tuff to find a car because of the privacy laws. Without the vin your chances approaches zero. A decade ago the owner of Papa Johns had to offer 1/4 of million dollars to find his 71 he sold in 1983. It still took almost a year to find it. Many rag tops rusted out beyond sensible repair and many non-SS rag tops gave their life so a SS could live on. There is a chance it was tucked away in a garage somewhere. There is also a chance it is now a Blue big block RS/SS.
