Default Looking for a 67 Camaro owner

I'm new here, to make a long story short, my dad recently passed away and whiile cleaning out some stuff at his house, I found some information regarding a Gold 67 Camaro 2 door H/T that he purchased in February of 1969. I have the original invoice, owners manual and some other paperwork that might be of some value to the current owner, if it's still out there.

Any ideas how I could go about finding out if it's still out there somewhere? I do have the VIN on the paperwork.

thanks

I was hoping to find out if there is a resource or something that would enable me to find if the car is still on the road or the last registered owner.

If you have the VIN. and the dealer I could try to find out at Team Camaro. They have some good info there on first gens.

First gens are extremely difficult to run down. My father in law got a Gold 396SS for graduation in 1969. I have the original Title, registration, owners manual, ect. cant find the car anywhere. DMV doesnt keep records that far back. and even if they did, they wouldnt be on the computer system. He kept it until 1987, I was able to track it to Kentucky and lost the trail cold. I gave up the search after a couple years. I hope you have better luck than I did.

Even if the DMV has the info by law they can not give that information out. Check out google for the story about owner of Papa Johns quest to find the Camaro he sold to help start the business.

Just post the vin on as many websites as possible and maybe someday the owner will search his vin. You also have to keep in mind a lot of these cars went to the cursher in the 70's and 80's. The cars where designed to last 8-10 years. I saw rusted out floors in the late 70's. If the frame had rust in the 70's-80's most of the time they where parted out or converted to race cars that most likely don't even have a vin tag anymore.

Check that VIN again, I think you may have an extra 7 in the first half.
CRG has an orphan list, you might try there.
Camaro Research Group.
