Default looking at this '67

Hi guys. I joined the forum early last year because I was going to buy a used 2010 Camaro SS, but the deal fell through. Which was just as well I guess because I caught the old school car bug just after that. I found this 1967 pro tourer with a 572 at a local muscle car dealer.

Here's the link to pics and a video, he just got it in and doesn't show a price. What do you think it is worth?

1967 Chevrolet Camaro

Thanks,
Mike

I'd say some where between 40k and 60k, if not more. That 572 is worth 8k alone.

Only has a 10 bolt rear end though, which most certainly needs upgraded. And only a four speed won't make it too friendly for highways.

Thanks for the reply and input MK

I just got an email from the owner of the dealership, he's asking $42k for it. Doesn't sound like a bad price, I'm going to go over at lunch and check it out. I'll let you know what happens.

If you get this before hand, ask the owner why it has a 10 bolt rear. Last time I checked, true SS Camaros had a 12 bolt, not a 10. 42k isn't bad, but the underneath needs some work so it looks as good as the top. And I think I saw overspray on the passenger exhaust tip. Easy stuff to mention to bring the dealership down on the price. Also, ask what rear gears are in it. 3.73 & lower (higher numerically) is good and bad. Good because it'll snap your neck when the throttle is smashed, bad because that 10 bolt might not handle it.

its a nice solid car. i dont think its a ss car. but the rear end is a easy swap. i think the car is worth 35k to 40k tops. the seat covers are 68 deluxe pieces and i cant see where the crank or switch is for the power windows in the doors.

Looks like a very nice and solid car. Does the description say something about power windows, I see hand cranks. I also see they lowered the rear by adding spacer blocks between the leaf springs and rear end perches. Not the best way to do it, but you'll want to add spacers on either side between the lower spring plates and the spring perch bracket, where you presently see a gap. Otherwise those brackets could tweak and the leaf springs will loosen, and that wouldn't be good. Using u-bolts would be a better way to go over the current bolt/nut setup.

That rear end has been changed. All 67 10 bolt rears got mono leaf springs. You can tell from the spring perches that those are multi leaf perches. Not saying the perches themselves have not been changed. Nice car.

I don't know what pics you're looking at, different from the ones I see? In the back seat area, all I see is a window crank, and there's an ash tray in the arm rest. On the doors, those are the main window cranks, the wing vent windows have a flip latch, and they push open by hand.

That is an ashtray. The window crank is a dead giveaway. Although on first glance the ashtray does resemble what could be pw controls.
