keeps cranking but

Default keeps cranking but

Tryed to take the 73 vet out today She kept cranking checked plenty of spark from the coil getting gas still has the original distributor maybe the points or something what do you guys think .

Sounds like it maybe the points or something. Even though you have spark, it may be a weak one. Also make sure your 12 volt bypass wire from the starter to coil is still working. 12 volts at the coil when cranking, 10 or less through the resistance wire when running.

Camaro69 gave you good advise already. HOW DO YOU KNOW you have spark? If your using an old spark plug, sometimes a plug will "zip and spark" but not strong. It takes more volts to jump a spark tester than it does a reg. spark plug. If you have good spark and Fuel...make sure your getting spark at right time.

I have a tester that goes between the sparkplug and the wire but yes camaro69 always has good advice very knowledgeable and I will check for the right volts next weekend ,thanks to all that help

Update just changed the the points out for hei works great
