Default just ordered

I just ordered oem stock 4 speed shifter to replace the indy shafter my question is will I have to remove the cross member or lower trans? ?this is all so I can put a counsel in, thanks

if its anything like a modern trans you should be able to unbolt the shifter from inside the car through the hole.

If you are talking about the whole shifter then you can replace it wth crossmember in place. Remove the handle from the top and pull the shifter from the bottom. Some of the bolts can be accessed from the top. I believe the stock shifter partially mounts to the crossmember which is why most of them were replaced with Hurst shifters that mounted directly to the tailshaft.

yep you are right but the hurst cost like 500 and the oem new stock 239 and i want to put the console in and i have to cut the floor, do you know how big the hole needs to be thanks

got a call day the guy said they dont have 1 in stock and that was the first thing i asked him and he said yes we have it in stock wtf

Isnt your car already a 4 speed? You should not have to cut the hole any bigger. The offset shifter handle will allow for a console

yes it has a four speed now but it came stock with a auto on the floor the last owner put the 4 speed in after market shifter hurst indy the hole is right next to the seat just don't look like its the right spot even with the stock curve shifter I will be buying but this is my first 4 speed so I don't no 4 sure do u have a picture of a bare floor with the stock hole
