Both my door handles have broken. It appears the gear that the handles pop onto have stripped. Is this gear replaceable it self or do you have to buy an entire new door lock mechanism? I hope not because they're about 100 dollars a piece.

Afraid the gear can't be replaced. You need the whole gear/mounting plate mechanism. But they're not $100, they are $35 a pair at NPD. #C-10513-2A 1968-69 style.
