ignition switch removal

Default ignition switch removal

i can't seem to be able to remove the ignition switch on my 67 camaro. i have the threaded collar lossened as far as it will go but it does not seem to want to compleately come off the igntion key cylinder. any ideas or is there something i am missing.

If you look at the face there is a small hole to inset a paper clip which will release the switch. I have the manual at home and can look it up and send to you tomorrow.

From the Chassis Shop Manual for 1968 Chevrolet, Chevelle & Camaro it states the following for removal of ignition switch:

Remove the lock cylinder by positioning switch in "ACC" position and inserting wire in cylinder face small hole. Push in on wire to depress plunger and continue turning key counter-clockwise until lock cylinder dan be removed.

Remove the ignition switch bezel nut and pull the ignition switch out from under the dash.
