ask a friend that knows transmissions to tell you what kind it has ,turbo 350 or turbo 400 or powerglide or muncie 4 speed etc... then ask your boyfriend what kinda horsepower he thinks it has and go to a transmission shop( with said friend) and have one built for him with a nice new matching convertor or clutch set up if manual and then he will have to put it in and have it on the road which will motivate him to address other issues like weak *** brakes etc...
If you buy him a brake conversion kit and it still has a bad trans he wont wanna put the brake stuff on till its running so waste of time there JMHO
car dosent look that bad just lost interest since he cant drive it!!!!

I have the same year car. I have done alot of research on "who makes what" for the 67's. 1st. Is he a purist? Meaning does he want it back to original exact condition? If so, I cannot help you because I am the exact opposite. I want a car that is classic but have new age parts and accessories. OLD CAR NEW TRICKS. 2ND Find out exactly what he wants? Make it a game. He'll love talking about it, we all do. Use a digital recorder and record the whole conversation. 3rd. If i can help just let me know.

Sounds like you are underway on a daunting project. where to begin is the question. We tore ours all apart, had it restored, put the subframe back on and now building the engine, wired it up and soon to fire the motor. Yours looks pretty good and I would say get the opinion of a professional body shop guy to look and see if its surface rust or you need to go to welding school 101. lol. If you got surface rust then you are allot farther than most who take on these kind of projects. Goodluck with all.
