Default HVLP question

I am getting ready to paint my 68 camaro. I have a new devilbiss HVLP paint gun setp. My question is it requires 13CFM at 10 PSI, My compressor is rated at 8CFM at 40 PSI. Is my compressor big enought to handle the job. It is a 33 gallon 2 stage compressorthat is actually a paint sprayer compressor(it says it on the side of the tank). I really dont want to buy a whole new set up, so I need help as to if it is big enough. Thanks for the help

You might get more exposure to this in the exterior section.

It is on the small size. The biggest problem with using a small compressor is they will run all the time and they will get hot. This will cause more water in the line. You have to be sure you have a good way to keep that out of you gun. It is nice to shoot the whole car and not have to worry if the compressor is keeping up but if you just keep and eye on the pressure and pause as needed a small compressor can do the job.

Also you may want to think about renting one of the gas 5HP portable ones. I can get one for around $50 for a weeked. Hook that inline with yours and you will have no problems.
