I am supposed to do a motor swap for a guy in a 1969 camaro z28..and i was wondering how much time it should take or average to pull the motor and re-install.trying to give the guy a price range.

It's a weekend job tops. How much of it depends on how many beer breaks you take.

2-3 days max if you work at it 8 hrs a day
i have done a sbc swap in 12 hrs.
depends on your motivation and if all parts are there ready to go?
if its a good friend 500 bucks if not 1500-2000 depending on whats done.

 

Also...are you swapping long block and have to change out all the accessories etc? or changing a complete engine for complete engine. No lift, no overhead crane....2 days in/out cleaned up and running. Then add for rusted bolts, where'd I put that, let's do this while it's out, phone ringing, stories, wife.....yep, it's gonna take a while.
