Default How do I make my RS into a RS/SS

Im in the process now of restoring my 67 camaro. Acording to the tag its a real RS. As of right now im putting a disk brake conversion kit on it. So if i want to make a change in my car i think now is the time. What does a RS/SS consist of. Acording to the tag the car already has deluxe int. what else do I need to build the car of my dreams.

well the main difference in the rs and ss is the rs had a different grille and the hidden headlights, take that away and it technically wouldn't be an rs.

SS package was a drive line package. The RS package was a cosmedic package. So do you want to make your car look like an RS/SS or drive and sound like RS/SS. To make it look like a SS you pretty much just go around and replace anything that says rs on it with the SS version. Examples: Steering wheel center, Gas cap, Front fender markings. If you want to clone the look of a big block SS you have to paint the sail panel (tail light panel)flat black. I don't think there many option you had to order when you got the SS package. I think my speedometer goes higher then a base car. but the gages and deluxe int. where all addons and not required with the SS.
My 67 does not say RS anywhere on it.

If you want it to drive like a SS it is going to be big changes. SS package had only the 350 (295hp) and the option of 2 396's. One was 325hp the other was 375hp. The transmission where TH400's or the M22 close ratio 4 speed. Also the 12 bolt rear.

I forgot the Hood. SS had a fake stacks on the hood. Not the best pic but you get the idea.

making it a rs/ss is real easy since your car is already a rs and has the hidden headlights. the ss just have a special hood like what gorn shows and then evrything else is just badge replacement. wherever there was a rs emblem it becomes a ss emblem. so front fenders, horn cap( if not a wood wheel car), hood and inserts, and gas cap

The SS as stated was a driveline package, any 67' with a 350 or 396 was an SS. The RS and SS options can be ordered together to make an RS/SS. If its a 350 engine, the grill and gas cap will say SS350, if its a 396 the grill and gas cap will say SS, and the tail panel and rockers would be painted flat black.
