Help, headers and power steer

Default Help, headers and power steer

I have a 68, I have super comp headers to put on, do I need to run a manual steer box? I have a power box now that im looping but may try to find a manual very soon. Inputs? this is on a bbc

I'm running Hooker comps with 2" tubes and a power steering box. The headers fit but as you can see, the "persuader" had to be used. Its tight, real tight, I can't remove the headers with the engine mounted. Wrap the tube with a thick towel/rag to keep from chipping the paint or finish. I've heard some talk of holding a socket against the tube and tapping on that to make a round indentation.

Hooker catalog says Comps fit with PS , Super Comps don't, 2 different headers. I have 2 an 1/8 primaries on my 396 with PS and they fit with PS but they are old

Most headers for Camaros I have seen have to have the 3rd tube dinged in to fit the ps box. I have seen headers on summit for BB Camaros that the 3rd tube comes up and over the 4th tube to eliminate the ding problem and clear the ps box. Dont remember what brand but ceramic coated was around $750.00.
