Default Gas Milage

Hey I was just wondering and I know that it doesn't really matter, What kind of Hp are u guys pushing and what type of gas milage are u getting now I am still thinking about picking up a 68 from a friend of mine and he has a 350 with a hot cam and I think a little motor work so I was just wondering what kind of milage I should expect while cruising and when I really get into it I know it will be like 5mpg but that is the fun part

im pushin 350 hp in my stock and #s matching 327 in my 68. it has a gm 350 horse cam and factory 68 2.02 camel hump heads on top of that is a factory over the counter aluminum intake the is a 302 intake but has a bowtie on it with a edelbrock 600 cfm carb. i probably get somewhere around 10 to 13 mpg around town and 15-18 on the highway. i have never had my rearend out so i dont know what gears im running. the tranny is the orignal m20 tranny

Somewhere between 2-30 MPG. Mileage is based on how the motor is setup how the motor is tuned and gearing. You have no information about any of those things.

My 67 can get 14 MPG on the Highway. I would venture to say I can not get 8 1/4 runs out of a gallon of gas. Based on your question that puts me a 2-14 MPG

Mine would probably be easier to measure by gallons to the mile, when I'm not babying it anyway.

LOL you are right my friend...68 510 big block 260/270/680/680 solid roller here and as the previous guy said its more like how many gallons to the mile
Fun aside.... its around 15 cruise and 7-8 floored..its all about how well the engine is put together

By adding a small amount of acetone(nail polish remover) to your tank, you reduce the surface tension for the gasoline molecules and burn the fuel more efficently.

I heard sugar works too....I seem to use about a 1/4 tank per 10 miles whatever that comes too. But my carb is all jacked up and I "tuned" it the best I could with 0 knowledge on how to actually do something like that.
