Go to a shop and have them fitted....the backs will be fine, but the fronts may rub on the tie rod.

With a set of Ralley wheels, you'll be fine as I just went through this....

This is what I'm running now, and I don't have any problems at all. My new Rims have the same back spacing as a set of Ralley wheels. I believe the back spacing is 4.5 inches if I measured it correctly.

I'm running a set of 8" wheels in the back and 6" wheels in the front. I think they look great and give the car a nice stance.
Back tires are 255/60/15
Front tires are 215/65/15

As Shevrolet stated though, it's best to take your car to the shop and have them test fit a pair "just in case" as I'm not entirely certain on a 7" rim on the front but I've been told it should clear without any issues. A quick way to see if the rim is going to rub is to take your front tire off now, and put on your rim and turn the wheel and see if it hits... you don't need a shop for that.

Just for a little clarification, the tire will rub against the Tie Rod knuckle upon cranking the steering all the way over on either side. It will put a nice .50 piece groove into the inner side profile of the tire.

Depending on the offset you can somtimes get away with 3/8" cheater plate....not the worst thing in the world.

Shevrolay,

I'm running a 215/65/15 on a 6" wheel on the front and I don't think it's rubbing. That being said, I'll check it tonight when I get home.

Is there that much of a difference between what I'm running on the front with what he wants to run? (215/60/15 on a 7" wheel)

If so, will he rub because of the 7" wheel, or can he go to a 65 series to resolve the rubbing?

Thanks!

The 7" wheel wont rub any more than a 6" wheel, if they both have the same backspacing. If they both have a 50-50 spacing, then the 7" will be 1/2" closer. Sometimes the wider wheels will have all the extra width to the outside, so it's important to know what the BS is. I'd be more concerned about BS, than rim width in a 6" vs. 7" wheel.
