Door Glass Installation

Door Glass Installation
I’m trying to install glass in the doors of my 69 for the first time. My question is related to the inner window guide plates. One of the large bolts each in both the front and back (approx 1” head) that are used to attach the glass to the mounting hardware are hitting the inner guide plates when you roll the window up. The only way to roll the window all the way up is to pull the glass inwards so it will pass the bolt head. That leaves the glass way too far in and won’t work. Am I missing something? Are the inner guide plates required, or can you just use the outer adjustable plates to press lightly against the window felts and remove the inner guides?

Is it the original window assembly and glass? I don't remember the the window hardware and guides lining up like that. Window may not be aligned properly at the bottom of the door. If you have to pull the window inward to clear the guides and then its not lining up with the body. I think the crank assembly and hardware of the window needs to be adjusted. There are the glass guides in you pic, but don't for get the guide blocks on top of the door. Those help to with pushing the window out if needed while making your adjustments. Got to play with it until it works.

Thanks. After working at it I was able to get them pretty close. I bent the outer guides so the window bolt doesn’t contact at such a direct angle and used the inner guide to keep pressure on the glass all the way up. My car is a ground up build from scratch with all new parts starting with a new AMD body, so there are several weird issues that I deal with that aren’t usually present in production cars with OEM parts.
