Default Control Arm bumpers?

My 67 does not have any bumpers on the control arms, upper or lower. Based on what I have seen on-line regarding the size of the bumpers, and what I know of the existing space under the control arms, those do not appear something that can be installed easily. Are these bumpers necessary, and do the control arms need to be disassembles to install bumpers?

Any experience is appreciated. THX

Not for the lower. They can be put on without removing anything. The uppers will be close. You may need to remove the A arm at the upper ball joint and lift up on it to install them. Make sure you use some type of a spring compressor before trying to seperate the ball joint.

What is the downside of not installing them?

May never need them, depending on how good your shocks and springs are. Still at certain speeds on a rough enough road could bottom out.
