Default Carb restoration problem

I sent my Quadrajet to http://www.customrebuiltcarbs.com/index.shtml , when l sent it out he told me 2 weeks. That was now over 2 months ago. Now I know things like this take time and l don't mind waiting alittle more than what l was told but when l call him to see whats going on, and l have only called 3 times so far, l get the run around like he's on the phone etc. l have been told he'll call me back blah blah blah. l know they are busy but this is bull. Has anyone had any experience with these guys? Earl

i just got my q-jet carb back after 3 days from local repair shop and it works like new. 2 months is rediculous. i've checked alot of places, but the thought of sending it out for rebuilding leaves the door open for problems. was the carb the original or "correct" for your car?

Keep calling them. And notify the better buisness bureau, they get results for things like this.

What i have also noticed is when a local specialty repair shop (i.e. carb restration shops) go to online services, they tend to get overloaded with projects. i found this to be the case with my carb, and could not get a real time of completion.
I get the best advise and recommendations for repairs, rebuilds, etc. from entrants at local car shows and similiar events. Next time your at a local car show, ask the different car owners who they recommend for specialty services and who they wouldnot recommend. They take pride in thier cars and would not hesitate to steer someone in the right direction.

Hey Ejam, I just bought a rebuilt #'s correct (7029202) Q-jet carb $315from a great mechanic out of Arkansas who's been rebuilding Q-jets for over 25 years. My Camaro runs really nice! I shelved the original for now till I can afford to send it out to fora serious rebuild.Need more info just let me know.

Never mind then, my newly rebuiltcarbis simply cleaned up, rejetted, metered, and what a difference.
So what's involved with the show quality finishthat you are expecting, isyour carbgoing to be polished out? That sounds like something I'd be interested in.
When you get it back, post some pics.
