Carb draining out?

I have a 67 with the original 350 and quadrajet. If I leave the car set a couple of days it acts like the carb is empty. As soon as I squirt a little gas in the carb the car starts right up. Any suggestions?

It's not draining out, it's most likely "perking" out from radiant engine heat cooking the carb. If you're not used to it, welcome to the world of carburetors. When trying to start, it's not all that uncommon to have to crank the engine a few revolutions while pumping the gas pedal a number of times. Closing off the carb heat crossover port on the intake manifold would help keep the carb cooler, but that requires removing the intake. Or you could put a heat shield plate between the carb and intake. Or install a phenolic carb spacer that will keep down heat transfer from the intake manifold, but watch your hood clearance.

Yes, cooking as it sits. The gas in the carb is sitting in a bowl, below the inlet, with an air gap above the level. Gas can't siphon back out of the carb and into the tank. It's possible that some gas could drop back from the supply line, but only whatever part of the line is higher than the highest point of the gas level in the tank. "Water seeks it's own level", so does gas.
