Camaro - custom rat rod look
I guess you cannot call a camaro a rat rod, sp what I mean with the term is "A mean looking, non-shiny, badass camaro".
I would like a camaro from before 70'. Im willing to spend up to $40.000, but the cheaper, the better. I like that things are working properly, cus I cannot fix things, if they break on the car. Im willing to pay the price for quality.
At the same time, I like when a car looks heavily used (almost rat rod style).
The question is now, what the best way of getting a camaro is, where the engine and everything is in good quality but there the outside of the car looks trashed. For reference, I absolutely love this one:

The car on the image above is exactly what I seek.
My question is now: Would you suggest buying i top quality car and mod the outside to look trashed, or buy a trashed car and improve the inside to be at a preium quality. I have to mention, that all modding has to be done by professionals, cus I do not have the skills to do this myself.
I apologize if I offended anyone by mentioning the option of degrading the looks of a camaro

Seems to me having one built would be the better way to go. One of the best ways to buy a car is an unfinished project. Many times a unfinished car will sell for less then the new parts cost. You should easly be able to find a non-SS non-number matching project with a new crate motor and trans for at or under 15K add another 10K for a builder and have the exact car you are looking for.
